So Shinobi found the treasure and started to think about how much the village would prosper. He thought about how the population would now increase because of the wealth that the treasure brought to the village. From old village records, Shinobi remembers that the year he was born, 17 years ago, the population was 472. Presently, the population is 609. Shinobi wonders how long it would take for the population to reach 851.

a) Use an exponential function to model the population growth.
b) How long would it take for the population to reach 851?

Shinobi, after getting his rightful share of the treasure, decides to invest it like the smart teenage boy he is. He invests all the money he got, which was $10 000 (CDN), in the towns bank. How many years would it take for Shinobi to get up tp $1 000 000 (CDN), when the interest rate is 10% compounded annually?
